FHCP Repeat Winners of DIS Pro-Am Golf Classic

In the heart of Ormond Beach's picturesque landscape, the Oceanside Country Club played host to a momentous occasion on April 29th, 2024. The 50th Annual DIS Pro-Am Golf Classic, a fusion of sportsmanship and philanthropy, unfolded under the sunny skies, marking a golden jubilee of golf and giving. Orchestrated by the Halifax Health - Foundation in collaboration with Daytona International Speedway, the event turned into a spectacular showcase of talent and generosity, raising over $250,000 for the Halifax Health - Foundation and various local charities.

The day was not just about the significant funds raised but also about celebrating the spirit of community and camaraderie. The Florida Health Care Plans (FHCP) team, a quartet of golf enthusiasts comprising John Barnes, Folusho Ogunfiditimi, Mary Lou Blackmer, and Michael Ball, distinguished themselves by clinching first place with an impressive score of 54. Their victory was not a first-time affair; it marked the second consecutive win for Team FHCP at the prestigious DIS Pro-Am Golf Classic. This repeated success underscores the team's dedication, skill, and the seamless synergy among its members.

“It was such an honor to have the opportunity to represent FHCP at this incredible event,” Michael Ball, FHCP pharmacy manager, said. “The chemistry of Team FHCP was evident as we won our second straight event. Every player contributed with clutch shots that led to our team’s victory. More important than winning, however, is the amazing impact this tournament has on the community. It brings together many different organizations to benefit one common cause in the Halifax Health - Foundation.“

The DIS Pro-Am Golf Classic has always been more than a tournament; it's a celebration of the enduring partnership between the sporting community and charitable endeavors.
