What Is a Video Visit? Doctor on Demand

Florida Health Care Plans has announced the addition of a new health benefit to its medical plans, Doctor On Demand!

Doctor On Demand (DOD) provides video visits with board-certified physicians and licensed psychologists via smartphone, tablet or computer, and is available to members enrolled in FHCP medical benefits. Visits with a medical doctor are $10*, and visits with a psychologist and psychiatrist are each $30*. Doctor on Demand also connects you with a physician within just 90 seconds.

Doctor On Demand treats many common non-emergency medical issues, such as cold, flu, fever, bronchitis, sinus infection, eye issues, upset stomach, rash, etc. While DOD is not intended to replace regular, in-person visits with members’ primary care physician (PCP), this service can be convenient to those considering an ER or urgent care visit for a non-emergency issue, when a PCP is not available. Doctor on Demand also is available to FHCP members traveling within the United States and in need of non-emergency care.
