FHCP’s Annual Holiday Food Drive

The holiday season is a time when we gather with our friends and loved ones to celebrate and show our appreciation for each other. It's a time for giving; the greatest gift we can give is our kindness and assistance to those in need.

Every year, the Florida Health Care Plans’ Health Promotion & Wellness Team organizes a food drive, amongst FHCP employees, to then donate to local organizations and partners in the community to assist those who need it most during the holiday season, as we strive to spread joy and positivity during this special time of year.

“I always look forward to the holiday season because I know it’s time to hold our annual tradition of giving,” Brittany Hawthorne, Group Wellness Coordinator said. “We have so many great organizations that we partner with to ensure that our donations are spread throughout the communities we serve and to those who truly need it. I’m always so proud of the work our team does every year organizing the food and our organization and team members overall who selflessly fill up our donation boxes.”

FHCP cannot be prouder of the work the Health Promotion & Wellness Team has done on the annual tradition of giving. This year, roughly 1,500 non-perishable food items were donated by our team to local charities such as St. Johns Food Pantry, Grace Community Food Pantry, The Jewish Federation - Volusia, Prince of Peace Catholic Church, The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia, Central Brevard Sharing Center, and South Brevard Sharing Center.

We look forward to another year of giving in 2024!
