FHCP’s Dr. Brinkerhoff receives prestigious Young Leader Award

Each year, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP) honors outstanding individuals, in the Florida family medicine community, who exemplify the mission, vision, and values of the Academy.

Florida Health Care Plans is proud to announce that one of our very own Physicians, Dr. Krista Brinkerhoff, has been recognized by the FAFP for her exceptional service and unwavering commitment to healthcare. She has been honored with the 2023 Young Leader Award for her outstanding contributions to the specialty of Family Medicine.

“Being chosen as the 2023 FAFP Young Leader of the Year is a true honor,” Dr. Brinkerhoff said. “It is a privilege to fulfill the role of a physician for my patients. I am entrusted with their physical health and their emotional well-being. I get to support them through the hardest of circumstances and celebrate their victories alongside them when they are well. I also am driven to advocate and educate the medical community on caring for patients with substance use disorders. Whether it is teaching the future physicians with FSU College of Medicine or my colleagues, I try to improve our care of this population for all in our community.”

Dr. Brinkerhoff's accomplishment is truly phenomenal, and everyone at FHCP is immensely proud of her. We recognize her exceptional work in the past and have no doubt that she will continue to make significant contributions in the future.
