FHCP Supports Mental Wellness in Local Softball Tournament

FHCP Supports Mental Wellness in Local Softball Tournament

On Saturday, November 9th, Florida Health Care Plans (FHCP) took pride in participating as a silver sponsor in the annual event "Maddie's Mission: Strike Out the Stigma," held at the iconic Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach.

The event saw the participation of various local organizational teams, including Team FHCP, as they came together to champion mental health awareness while participating in a softball tournament. It underscored the significance of community collaboration in addressing mental wellness and fostering a supportive environment for individuals facing such challenges.

Organized by Youth Emotional Support (YES), a non-profit established in 2019, the event aimed to enhance mental wellness within the community. YES is committed to bridging gaps in mental health care, ensuring that no one has to navigate their recovery journey alone. Their initiatives are designed not only to spread awareness but also to provide specialized training and resources for individuals, families, and community professionals. This approach fosters a more supportive atmosphere, making it easier for those in need to seek help and find solace.

"Our team of employees and friends showed remarkable spirit on and off the field, championing mental health awareness through fellowship and competition," said Gregory Camacho, Team FHCP Head Coach and Supervisor of Marketing and Communications. "Together, we are making strides to break the stigma and support our community in meaningful ways."

Florida Health Care Plans is proud to be part of initiatives that promote mental health awareness and contribute to the health and wellness of the community. As we continue to support such meaningful causes, we hope to inspire others to join the movement to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage open conversations about this important topic.

Special thanks to our 2024 FHCP Team of employees: Gregory Camacho, Jessica Asbury, Allen Davis, April O'Keefe, James Gregg, Marcello Ojeda, Evan Birchfield, and Christie Benishek
