COPD
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs, making it hard to breathe. It includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
The disease is increasingly common and is the third leading cause of disease-related death in the U.S. The good news is COPD is often preventable and treatable. With proper management, most people with COPD can achieve good symptom control and quality of life.
